Pine Island-Matlacha motorists reminded of work on shoulder this week.

Repairs necessary due to Hurricane Milton; flaggers will be on site.

Fort Myers, FL, Nov. 4, 2024 – Lee County would like to remind Matlacha-Pine Island residents that the Department of Transportation will be fixing the shoulder on Pine Island Road between Matlacha Boulevard West and Shoreview Drive.

The work is necessary because of damage caused by Hurricane Milton. Crews will be working on both the north and south shoulders between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Tuesday, Nov. 5, though Friday, Nov. 8, weather permitting.

Flagging operations will be in place, as intermittent lane closures are necessary. Delays for motorists are possible, and residents are encouraged to plan ahead when traveling through the area.
