Personal Invitation We invite you and your family to one of Southwest Florida’s largest one-day events and the premier Pine Island event of the year, “Taste of Pine Island 2010”, the “Seafood Chowder Cook-off Contest” and the famous “Fish Drop”. The event will be held on Sunday, January 24th, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Phillips Park at Pine Island Center. Past Winners of the Seafood Chowder Cook-off Contest The event provides visitors the unique and rare occasion to sample various familiar and not-so familiar local cuisine. In addition, but equally important is the opportunity for the visitor to enhance a restaurant’s reputation by choosing the winner of the “Seafood Chowder Cook-off Contest” for the year. Past winners were Lazy Flamingo in Bokeelia, Perfect Cup in Matlacha, for the last two-years, and four-time winner Waterfront Restaurant in St. James City. This Years Seafood Chowder Cook-off Contestants This year’s contestants are Waterfront Restaurant in St. James City, Perfect Cup in Matlacha, Gulf Seafood in Bokeelia, Bert’s Bar and Grill in Matlacha, Sandy Hook Restaurant in Matlacha, Jackie’s Restaurant in St. James City. Come early and be one of the judges in the Peoples Choose for the Chowder Cook-off Contest.	Restaurants In addition to the food fest, Waterfront Restaurant, Sandy Hook Restaurant, Hog Tastic BBQ, Liberty Concessions, Island Grill, Jackie’s Restaurant, Winn Dixie, Phils Grill, Gulf Seafood, Moretti’s Restaurant & Perfect Cup will be serving some of the best dishes they serve at their restaurants at a reduced price. This is some of the items that will be served at Taste of Pine Island, of course Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, BBQ Chicken, Fried Shrimp, Crab Cakes, Fresh Fish Fingers, Fresh Pine Island Fried Mullet, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, BBQ Boneless Ribs, Philly Cheese Steak, Italian Sausage, Chicken Salad Croissants, Gyro Sandwiches, Beef, Chicken and Shrimp Kabob with rice and veggies, Tuna Cachos, Wonton Skins, Seaweed Salad, Tuna, Mayo, Cheese Burgers Sliders, Fresh Yellowfin Tuna Salad Sliders, Crunchy Mahi-Mahi Sliders, Fresh Local Seafood Chippino, Sea-Food Salad is just a short list of what the restaurant will be cooking at Taste of Pine Island. Drinks will be from Budweiser to Ice Water, Soda, Coffee, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade and Fire House Margaritas. Live Entertainment “Taste” always delivers the best in live music and entertainment. This year’s lineup starts with Pine Island own The Pine Island Trio, with a little Blue Grass, Southern Rock Band with, Alyce Grouper Band and the Van Kirk Brothers with Florida's hottest band Strange Arrangement who placed first in the 99x battle of the bands, This band has performed at Johnny Malloy’s in Estero, Florida, Zombiecon in Fort Myers, Ralph’s in Cape Coral, Stevie Tomato’s in Cape Coral, The Spot in Fort Myers, Miceli’s Restaurnt in Matlacha and Eddie Fish Bones in Cape Coral.
