The Islands Fire Chief, Marty Slater, on his new motorcycle, one of several that will be part of the Island's
(Left Photo) motorcycle brigade. A motorcycle can be an asset sometimes during a fire when men need to be transported into out-of-the-way places. The brigade motorcycles will be privately owned and the boys are expecting to have some fun picnicking, etc. together.

In spite of the fact that many Islanders are on their vacation, the Island one of its biggest crowds for
(Above Photo)the parade on the 4th of july that it has had in the past 6 years. The celebration is sponsored by the Pine Island Volunteer Fire Dept. and its auxiliary.
