  Dear PIN

It's really great for us, "snowbirds" who love Pine Island, to accidently bump into your website and get honest to goodness
PI news.
We read the NewsPress every day on its website, also Naples News but  nothing tells about what we want to know--what's
happening on our wonderful island in the sun.

Thank you and may you continue your excellent reporting of our Paradise.

Mia and Bob Moloughney

Where does our tax money go for the Pine Island Fire Dept.
Have you used the rescue or fire dept?…  then later received a huge bill in the mail.  What does our tax money support?  How many calls a week does the dept. make and what are the charges?  Do they charge by the mile, time spent at a scene, by the number persons taken care of, number of staff needed or size of the fire?  The dept. does a great job and without them we would be in a sorry fix.  I would like to know, however, how they charge for the calls and what portion of the tax money goes towards what.      What is the money collected from the calls used for.  I am sure this has been addressed before, however most people do not pay attention to the what's and when's until it happens to them.
Maybe we need a refresher course.

  Dear PIN

I finally found a source of news from Pine Island.  My husband and I are "snow birds" and it is nice to find a news site on the web.

Thanks,
Sally Flanagin

... I just finished viewing The Pine Island News and found it to be informative, colorful, and easy to read.  I am looking forward to all your next issues ...
While reading the latest issue plus
attachments, I was saddened at the  thought of so many older (and some not so old) citizens who are technologically disadvantaged. Many people I have met on this island don't know how to use their computer or don't have one.  This of course may be the least of social problems, but it saddened me because they are missing one of the greatest advances in our technology's history.  And it's so easy--but not cheap.
...Thanks again for being interested in and promoting the beautification of this island.  I think most citizens either don't know who does the actual work or may care less.  I'm sure glad for the ones who do!

Signed
Susanne Quattro
