TRAFFIC ADVISORY Intermittent Lane Closures - Little Pine Island Bridge
FLA DOT-MATLACHA, Fla. - Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures across the little Pine Isand Bridge on Tuesday. October 14, during daytime hours to allow crews to accept deliveries of concrete deck slabs to the worksite. The deliveries will start as early as 8 a.m. and will continue until all deck slabs are delivered. Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone.

 

Matlacha Split Into Two Districts

Residents lost the battle to prevent Matlacha from being divided between House Districts 76 and 77. The final legislative debate is today and no amendments are being allowed. Despite email pleas from well over 100 Pine Islanders as well as special pleas from Lee County Commission Chair John Manning, not a one of our Senators or Representatives did anything to help us—you might want to remember that come election time.
