Estimated ten's of thousands of Comcast and Xfinity customers from Naples, south to Leesburg, in the north were offline for over six hours Monday, after a main fiber optic cable was cut, according to a company statement.

Most of Pine Island and much of Matlacha lost internet access starting around 11:30 am to around 5pm on Fri., 12-24-21. Comcast indicated that internet was disrupted in those area, however, suggested that it would only be a short outage. 

The Lee County Sheriff's Dept were searching with reports of around ten patrol cars, multiple canine patrols and a helicopter for a "person of interest" begining at around 9:30 pm on Friday, the 3rd of Dec. in the Pineland area including around Stringfellow and Windsong. Information as it becomes available.

There was a low pressure/no pressure outage in the Bokeelia/Pineland area beginning at around 11am. The line was repaired by 8pm. Reports were that the outage extended from Winn Dixie north as the result of a line breakage. There is also a two-day Boil Water advisory.  . . . more information as it becomes available.
